A NOTe from mrs. Demeyer

“We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.”- Winnie the Pooh

Every beginning has an end, and our end of the school year has come. What fun and what memories! This time of year can be bittersweet as we say “goodbye” or “until next time.” Thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you this year and entrusting your child to us. We have watched them grow taller, wiser, more responsible and mature than when they arrived in the fall. We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, talked about big ideas, practiced habits, and learned. As you reflect on this year, remember all the good!

We hope you find time to get outdoors this summer and enjoy the beauty that is around you. Take time to look at the little things and consider doing a family nature study. Discover our city and the fun, family-friendly activities it has to offer. Also, make time for reading this summer (see link below). The public library has some fun activities planned for children this summer; click here to look over their calendar of events. Watch for emails starting in July with important information regarding next year. Have a great summer!

Dear TCA Family and Friends,

Last year, I closed my end-of-year communication with this statement, “I firmly believe we will return to the TCA we know and love, filled with normal activities, events, field trips, celebrations, concerts, assemblies and relationship building.” I am pleased to say, WE’RE BACK!  This school year has been incredible, and the last few weeks saw many fun activities across our campuses and grade levels.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the recent tragedy at Robb Elementary School.  Our hearts are heavy, and we are grieving with the victims, students, families, and community of Uvalde, Texas, and we know the unimaginable loss of students and teachers is devastating.  I have always said that safety and security are our highest priorities, and I want you to know that we’ll continue to conduct our annual Colorado School Safety Assessment at all our schools to validate our current programs and processes and to identify any areas of improvement.  We’ll never lose focus on implementing appropriate safeguards and measures, and we’ll forever prioritize the health, safety, security, and wellbeing of our students and staff.

In addition to safety, one of my other chief priorities is that our students are happy and good.  Happy to be with their classmates and teachers, and feeling good about their future.  I’d ask that those thoughts continue to guide us as we prepare to celebrate next year’s 25th Anniversary (and beyond).  We’re actively planning several special events and have adopted “Remembering Our Roots” as the theme for our yearlong celebration.

As always, thank you for being an incredible Titans community. TCA is a special place with special people. Please enjoy summer break with your family!

With Titan Pride,

Russ Sojourner
TCA President
